The Growing Cloud-Native Market is Pushing the Amazon Web Services or AWS Market
The use of cloud-native solutions is gaining momentum in Germany. It enables the creation and execution of scalable applications in cloud environments. According to a study conducted by ISG for the EuroCloud Native Association, 22 percent of cloud solutions users and planners with 50 or more employees in Germany have already used cloud-native solutions and another 27 percent plan to use it within the next 12 months. Only 3 percent are not considering cloud-native solutions. The cloud-native market offers an ideal environment to grow for the Amazon Web Services (AWS) business partners in Germany.
Flexibility and cost advantages through cloud solutions have boosted the popularity of IT application and infrastructure delivery models in recent years. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated market penetration of cloud-based offerings due to their advantages and current company requirements. The short-term relocation of many employees to a home office is only possible with the help of collaborative cloud-based solutions. In addition, many companies are transforming their IT landscapes based on needs and cost-flexible architectures to cushion the additional cost pressure caused by the crisis.
Because of their pronounced ability for rapid scalability and flexibility, cloud hyperscalers benefit most from the current and long-term demand for cloud solutions. As one of the world's leading hyperscalers, AWS has particularly profited from the growing customer demand. Given its global importance, AWS is an attractive partner for service providers and technology providers, cooperating with several of them through the AWS Partner Network. It helps to develop AWS-based solutions by providing business and technical support, including for sales and marketing. With the growing importance of AWS as an IT provider, the AWS partner ecosystem is also becoming more relevant. The Amazon Web Services partners also benefit from the increasing success of AWS.
Market growth of AWS SAP in Germany with greater potential: Many user companies are still hesitant on executing the AWS-SAP integration, as SAP solutions often control fundamental and important processes. Concerns about using cloud solutions, which are especially high in Germany, have a strong impact on this space. Even SAP now relies heavily on resources for software delivery models based on cloud computing. The expansion of the SAP product portfolio with AWS and the ability to map professional workloads also contribute to the market growth of AWS-SAP solutions.
Nine providers were positioned as leading AWS-SAP partners in this study: Accenture, Capgemini, Deloitte, T-Systems, IBM, Lemongrass, NTT DATA, Syntax Systems and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Data analytics and machine learning help AWS partners provide support to deal with the complexity of digging up data treasures: In many companies, data is still a hidden treasure as it is often unstructured and available in silos within the company. Meanwhile, data analysis is gaining traction in Germany as an indispensable factor for business success. A major challenge is that the amount of data to be analyzed increases quickly; an example of this is data from IoT systems. Due to the rapidly growing volumes of data that need to be analyzed, many companies should leverage public cloud extensively, especially in the data processing environment. Due to the high complexity of integration with existing infrastructure for data storage, they rely on a strong partner network from AWS for integration and service management. Service providers offer a range of support functions, from operation and readiness checks to strategic advice on technical implementation and integration.
Eight AWS partners were positioned as leading providers in this market: Accenture, AllCloud, Atos, Capgemini, DXC Technology, Materna, tecRacer and Wipro.
AWS offerings support IoT solutions, particularly during the pandemic due to their performance: The COVID-19 pandemic has strongly fueled interest in the use of IoT solutions. The virtual work environment and device outsourcing have further increased the challenges for implementing IoT solutions. In addition, the demands on traditional IoT solutions have also increased, for example, because of the breakdown of supply chains. Because of its powerful advantages, IoT has become an indispensable part of a business' digital transformation. High-performance solutions, particularly the highly scalable ones from AWS, are suitable for enabling this implementation. Customers expect AWS partners to have broad expertise, experience and extensive delivery skills in various industries.
Eight providers were named as leading AWS IoT partners in this market. They are: Accenture, Atos, Capgemini, HCL, Materna, Reply, Siemens and Software AG. ISG identified AllCloud as a Rising Star.
Path is set for accelerated AWS migration: Germany is witnessing a significant increase in the use of cloud-native solutions and companies are setting a growth course with AWS business partners. The ongoing crisis caused by the pandemic is further accelerating the transformation to the cloud to achieve cost advantages. Migration is the main driver for the transition to solutions based on AWS, making the partner network an important factor. Migration partners support clients in switching to the AWS platform, taking into account all relevant topics.
In this market, 10 AWS partners managed to position themselves as leading providers: Accenture, Atos, Capgemini, Claranet, Cognizant, Computacenter, T-Systems, DXC Technology, Rackspace Technology and Wipro. Materna was identified as a Rising Star.
Consulting partners support AWS and benefit with an end-to-end offering: With the growing popularity of cloud platforms, the number of potential clients that have not made the transition is increasing. For these interested parties, there is often a strong need for orientation to get a better understanding of how the transition can be optimally designed. Change management and digital business strategies are still important factors in AWS solutions, together with cost-cutting opportunities. This also applies to consulting – a key factor for the transition to AWS solutions. Consulting services firms provide support during development and operations, leading to growth. At the same time, these partners benefit from the successful transition of their clients through follow-up business such as managed services. Service providers that not only offer advice but also migration support for AWS operations already have the requisites for their success in the market.
In this space, 10 partners were identified as leading providers of AWS consulting services: Accenture, Atos, Capgemini, Claranet, Cognizant, T-Systems, DXC Technology, Rackspace Technology, tecRacer and Wipro.
Interest in AWS managed service providers is growing, giving an advantage to service providers operating in Germany: With the success of AWS solutions, companies that lack experience, knowledge or resources are expressing interest in the transition. This development is supported by the fact that external management of Amazon's web service solutions is becoming increasingly important. There is also a requirement to increase expertise in the control of hybrid multi-cloud landscapes and providing cost savings, security and data protection, as well as operations and end-to-end skills. Service providers that meet these requirements and can provide references and case studies will be at an advantage. Those that can provide operations in Germany will be further benefited.
In this quadrant, 11 AWS partners managed to position themselves as leading providers of AWS managed services. They are: Accenture, Atos, Capgemini, Claranet, Cognizant, T-Systems, DXC Technology, IBM, Rackspace Technology, tecRacer and Wipro. Computacenter was identified as a Rising Star.
