Precisely Is a Vendor of Merit in Product Experience Management


We are happy to share some insights about Precisely drawn from our latest Value Index research, Ventana Research Value Index: Product Experience Management, which assesses how well vendors’ offerings meet buyers’ requirements.

In all of our Value Indexes we utilize a structured research methodology that includes evaluation categories designed to reflect real-world criteria incorporated in a request for Ventana_Research_Value_Index_Logo_Product_Experience_Management_2023_Logo-1proposal (RFP) and vendor selection process for product information management (PIM) and product experience management (PXM). We evaluated Precisely and 15 other vendors in seven categories, five relevant to the product (Adaptability, Capability, Manageability, Reliability and Usability) and two related to the vendor (TCO/ROI and Validation). To arrive at the Value Index rating for a given vendor, we weighted each category to reflect its relative importance in an RFP process, with the weightings based on our experience and on data derived from our Product Experience Management Benchmark Research.

Precisely, through acquisition of Winshuttle, a technology provider focused on data- and process-centric efforts, acquired a dedicated vendor called EnterWorks that continues to support the product line and focus on PIM.

Precisely was categorized as a Vendor of Merit, ranking 15th overall in this Value Index evaluation. It ranked 12th in Product Experience, performing best in Usability and Reliability where it ranked 10th and 11th, Ventana_Research_Value_Index_PXM_2023_Precisely-1respectively. It ranked 11th in Customer Experience and 15th in both TCO/ROI and Validation. Its overall performance was impacted by its lower rankings in Capability and Manageability where it placed 13th and in Adaptability where it placed 15th. These represent 50% of the weighting in the overall Value Index.

Our assessment finds that Precisely could perform better by examining its placement in overall Product Experience and its commitment to improve and invest in its PIM offering. It should also examine how it engages with customers and provides the validation on its commitment to PIM.

This assessment was based on Precisely EnterWorks 10.5.2 supporting product experience management and was available in January of 2023.

Precisely, like all vendors in this space, should focus on the growing requirements for what product experiences are expected and how feedback from consumption can guide improvement.
